Here we go… another rescue project just landed on Guitar Street.
Love Fuzz is a Kurt Cobain Mustang Tribute project.
This is a rescue guitar… the worst I have had through Guitar Street, to be honest. It’s an absolute basket case of a guitar that started life as a 1970s vintage Japanese guitar. It started life as a Tomson Splendor Mustang.
It’s got the competition stripes, the roller bridge… and lots of disgusting warts. Plans for this series? – Weekly updates – How to remove guitar finish – how to refret a guitar – radius sanding – Electronics – Seymour Duncan JB – Competition burgundy paint = how to refinish a guitar.
I haven’t worked out if it’ll be nitro or poly yet but stay tuned for a tutorial on matching the competition burgundy paint… it’s not, simple lake placid. I actually have a 1980s Seymour Duncan JBJ and a JBL so I am going to drop one of those in there.
At the end of this the plan is to give the guitar to my mate Jefferson. He is going to record a song that another mate of mine, Rob, has written. Stay tuned. This should be interesting!
